FUNDRAISING. Waverly Place and Kay Yow Cancer Fund will host Wine & Brew Walk at 302 Colonades Way in Cary on Thursday, March 30 and Thursday, April 27, 5–8 p.m. Participating Waverly Place merchants will treat guests to a sampling of red, white, and sparkling wines, as well as craft beers to sip as you stroll, shop and save.
WOMEN IN SONG. The North Carolina Museum of History will close The Power of Women in Country Music exhibit on Sunday, April 2. To celebrate the exhibit, the museum will host a finale concert as part of its Southern Songbird Series on Saturday, April 1 at 7 p.m. The event will include performances by Eliza Meyer, Alice Gerrard, Kay Justice and Ginny Hawker.

GROWNUPS ONLY. PBR Cary hosts adult spring break on Friday, March 24, 8 p.m.–2 a.m. There is no cover charge before 10 p.m. for those wearing spring break attire, and beachy drink specials will be served all evening. Grownups can head over to Dorthea Dix Park’s Flowers Field in Raleigh this Saturday, March 25, noon–5 p.m., for Recess: All Grown Up. VOTING UPGRADES. The Wake County Board of Elections and Board of Commissioners has approved the purchase of hundreds of specialized ballot-marking devices that will help nearly 18,000 visually impaired people with intuitive interfaces, touch screens, headphones, audio-tactile keypads and braille legends. These devices will be available at every Wake County precinct and Early Voting location.

KIDS NIGHT OUT. Drop children ages 5–10 off for a kids-only evening of hands-on fun during Kids Night Out at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham Friday, March 24, 5:30–8:30 p.m. They will eat pizza, play games, explore exhibits and work together on science experiments while parents enjoy a few hours to themselves.
BOOK SALE. The Friends of the Chatham Community Library Spring Book Sale runs March 30–April 1 at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro. Choose from thousands of categorized books, CDs, DVDs and audiobooks. On Friday, all books and materials are half price. On Saturday, guests may fill grocery bags for $5. Proceeds help the library underwrite programs.
